Visiting scholars from India share insights on luxury branding and Indian consumers

India’s National Institute of Fashion Technology faculty members, Dr. Sushil Raturi from Mumbai and Mr. Siewspah Buhroy from Shillong, will provide public presentations as visiting scholars in AMD. Dr. Raturi has experience in Fast Moving Consumer Goods research and consultancy in the consumer durables and textile & clothing sectors.

He will provide a public presentation on consumer buying behavior and branding in India (Tuesday September 19th 2:10-3:00, 01 MacKay Hall). Mr. Buhroy was a Fashion consultant and Visual Merchandiser Brand Ambassador for the Italian luxury fashion house of FENDI and will discuss management of luxury brands (Thursday September 21st 3:10-4:00, 01 MacKay Hall). Mr. Buhroy also spoke to students in other courses including AMD 474, Entrepreneurship in Human Sciences, where he discussed entrepreneurship and small business practices within India. Their visit was supported by a United States-India Educational Foundation grant.
