    • 2000: A graduate project "a Study on the influence of promotion on college students in South Taiwan"

I grew up in a clothing factory environment in Taiwan. This stimulated my interest and involvement in the fashion industry from the time I was very young. In order to pursue my passion for fashion business and enhance my professional skills, in September, 1993, I became a student at the Fashion Design at Tainan Woman’s College of Arts & Technology, a well-known college in southern Taiwan. I received two certificates for women’s clothing construction levels I and II (In Taiwan, expertise in levels II means I can teach in public junior high schools and private senior high schools). I also received a license in embroidery.

Before graduation, I attended a very competitive national exam for outstanding students. I was one of five students to get National Pingtung University of Science and Technology academic admission in that exam. That is the only national university in Taiwan with an emphasis on fashion design and merchandising. My graduate research project was "the influence of promotion on college students in South Taiwan". I successfully completed in both a written and oral defense. I studied the Management of Business Administration program at Oklahoma City University in the spring of 2002 and graduated in the summer I of 2003. I study in the textile and clothing department, since fall 2007.

    Current Research Projects:

My primary research focuses on the effect of positive brand experiences on consumer shopping behavior. The brand experiences I have examined include brand love and respect, reflecting Roberts' (2004) lovemarks theory. My most recent work developed a reliable and valid scale of the three antecedents (e.g., mystery, sensuality, intimacy) for a lovemark experience for fashion brands. A lovemark is defined as a brand experience that creates highly charged, emotional relationship between the brand and consumers, distinguished from a brand, product, and fad based on the levels of love and respect (Roberts, 2004). According to Roberts, the experience of high love and respect reflects the lovemark. However, scant literature identifies contributors to this love/respect brand experience; Roberts proposed that mystery, sensuality, and intimacy should be built into a lovemark experience.

Related areas of interest include retailing and supply chain management, global textile trade and sourcing, and visual merchandising. Collaborative research forecasting textile industry in Sub-Saharan Africa with one professor at Tshwane University of Technology is planned to be proceeding in 2010. Currently, I am writing a tutorial manual for Visual Retailing software with two co-authors, which will be published in Fairchild publication within two years.

    • 06/2004 ~ 07/2005:
Platoon Leader (120th Regiment Maneuver company)

    Current Research Projects:
My research concentrates on the priority of motivation factors in the Korean Army Foodservice system. Several research studies have determined and assessed Herzberg’s Two-Factor Theory of Motivation and job satisfaction. However, no study was conducted for this theory relating to job satisfaction among both managerial officers and soldiers in the Korean Army foodservice operation.
Discovering the priority of motivation factors will influence how high-ranking commanders can motivate and satisfy all workers in the Korean military foodservice system more efficiently. In addition, job satisfaction stemming from effective motivators was found to be associated with a decrease in employee turnover, and cost reduction of an organization.
