  • GMO issues (international labeling)

Industry Experience:

  • I was a legal practitioner for 5 years before setting up a bakery outlet and managed the shop for 7 years. I was a visiting chef to various government and private sector establishments. I had an extensive involvement with F&B business sector especially with the entrepreneurs, wholesalers, suppliers and importers.

Honors and Awards:

  • 2008 Dean’s Award for excellent academic achievement
  • 2009 Diploma Award for participating in Culinaire Malaysia (Elegance Stylish Wedding Cake class) in conjunction with Food & Hotel Malaysia
  • 2012 Faculty Post Graduate Award for excellent academic achievement

  • Paper entitled “Food labeling: Professionals culinary understanding and their procurement practices” presented at Postgraduate Research Seminar 2012 held at The National University of Malaysia.
  • Paper entitled “The need of mandatory labeling on GM foods in Malaysia” presented at National Postgraduate Colloquium 2012 at Universiti Teknologi MARA, Shah Alam Campus.
