FLM Distance PHD Program Set For Summer

The Foodservice and Lodging Management program will be offering the 2009 Summer Ph. D. Academy from June 14 (Sunday) through July 3 (Friday). The confirmed course offerings during the 2009 Summer Academy are:

  • HRI 504A Hospitality Research (1 credit)
  • HRI 504B Current Issues (1 credit)
  • HRI 604 Professional Writing (2 credits)
  • HRI 638 Human Resources Management Research (3 credits)
  • HRI 680 Foodservice Research (3 credits)

Another 3-credits course will be offered, but has not been confirmed.

The course schedule will be:

  • Week 1: One 3-credit course (i.e., one of xxx, 638, or 680)
  • Weekend 1 (Fri - Sun): 504A and B
  • Week 2: 604 and another 3-credit course
  • Week 3: The last 3-credit course

This course offering plan will allow you to participate for one, two, or all three weeks of the Academy depending on your other summer schedules.

Housing information will be made available in Spring 09. In the past, Frederickson Court, part of ISU housing, offered accommodation and meal service and it is within walking distance from MacKay Hall where course classrooms are located.
