Program Outcomes

 

Family and Consumer Sciences Education and Studies

The College of Human Sciences at Iowa State University is accredited by the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences Council for Accreditation. Its educational programs (majors) meet or exceed the Council's established standards and lead to baccalaureate degrees through which professional are prepared for a career in family and consumer sciences or in the profession's career specializations.

Degrees offered are Bachelor of Science (BS) in Teacher Licensure, Communications, or Professional Studies; Master of Science (MS), Master of Eduction (M.Ed); and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). Currently, the graduate programs in FCEDS are closed to new admission.

 

Hotel, Restaurant, and Institution Management

The HRIM program is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Programs in Hospitality Administration (ACPHA), the accrediting agency for hospitality education programs.

Degrees offered are Bachelor of Science (BS), Master of Science (MS), Master of Family and Consumer Scinces (MFCS), and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). Minors also are available in each area

 

Textiles and Clothing

The Textiles and Clothing program is endorsed by the American Apparel and Footwear Association (AAFA). There are 13 endorsed schools -- 11 in the U.S. that offer Bachelors Degree programs.

Degrees offered are Bachelor of Science (BS), Master of Science (MS), and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). The program offers a minor in apparel merchandising, design and production.
