Peer mentors

Each year the learning community has 2-3 peer mentors who are sophomores, juniors, or seniors in event management and/or hospitality management.  Peer mentors come to AESHM 113 regularly and participate in and even lead class discussion.  They act as another resource on campus for students—giving advice, suggestions, and support.  In addition to this, peer mentors also plan social opportunities, educational events, and study sessions for the learning community participants.

Hi! My name is Arial and I am a sophomore in event management with a minor in entrepreneurship. I am from Andover, Minnesota (which is 20 minutes north of the cities). I love traveling, being at the beach, hanging out on a lake, playing and watching sports especially basketball, and planning special events. I am very involved at ISU. I am in Event Management club, Alpha Delta Pi Sorority, Women’s Club Basketball team, and Young Life. I love keeping busy and meeting new people. I cannot wait to meet all of you!

Hi! My name is Shonna, and I am a sophomore majoring in event management with a minor in public relations and general business.  I am from a small town, Orion, Illinois, where I grew up on a farm. At ISU I am currently the social chair of the Event Management Club, a NSCS member, and an athlete on the ISU Cheerleading Squad.  In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with my friends, getting involved on campus, and cheering on the Cyclones. I am looking forward to meeting you all this year!
