Textiles and Clothing

MODA

MODA is a student run organization in the Textiles and Clothing Department. We have a variety of speakers that come in and speak with us about their experience in this field. We also go on a variety of trips to see fashion shows in places such as Kansas City and Chicago. To learn more about MODA, please contact our advisor, Chris Leiran Wise, or our president, Kari Zevenbergen.

Fashion Show

Students in the Textiles and Clothing program may choose to participate in the annual fashion show. This event is usually held in the spring. For further information contact Sara Beth Marcketti.

Common Threads

The Common Threads Learning Community is constructed of a group of first year students enrolled in the undergraduate Textiles and Clothing program and majoring in Apparel Merchandising, Design, and Production. As a residential Learning Community, the adjustment to college life is eased as students in Common Threads (CT) attend a set of classes together and live in the same residence hall. Specially selected upper-class peer mentors reside with the students and serve as coordinators of academic and social activities. Living together enables students to easily organize a study group for an upcoming test, develop teamwork skills while collaborating on a project or seek immediate and diverse feedback on a problem for a class. For more information, visit the Common Threads Web page or contact Christine Leiran Wise .
