Grades assigned by graduate teaching assistants

Student challenges about grades assigned to their work (projects, papers, exams, quizzes, and other work graded by the teaching assistant) must be submitted in writing and will be re-evaluated by the supervising faculty member. The grade assigned by the faculty supervisor will be the final grade for that graded work. (Graduate students are encouraged to add this statement to their syllabi if they are sole instructors for a class.)

Teaching assistants — grade evaluation

Novice faculty and graduate teaching assistants are required to work with their faculty supervisors or senior faculty mentor to monitor grade evaluation. If distribution of grades for a major project or exam are clustered in one area, the novice faculty or graduate student must meet with the faculty supervisor/senior faculty to discuss the situation before projects or exams are returned to students.
