Free CPR training for CHS faculty and staff: 3:10-5 p.m., 0289 Forker - The free training will be provided by Jennifer Spry-Knutson and Kinesiology students. The class is limited to 10 participants, so those interested must RSVP by Friday, Oct. 19 at noon.

Five-course Italian dinner served by HSPM 487 Fine Dining students: 6:15-9 p.m., Joan Bice Underwood Tearoom in Mackay Hall - Enjoy a night out and experience a full five-course meal that will take your taste buds all the way to Italy. The meals will be served on October 24 and November 7, but reservations are limited. Honors poster presentation: 3-5 p.m., Great Hall, Memorial Union - All students graduating in Honors present their capstone projects at an Honors Poster Presentation event. Poster presentations are held each semester. Many present during their senior year, but students are encouraged to present earlier if their Honors Project has been completed. More».

College of Human Sciences undergraduate convocation: 2-3 p.m., C.Y. Stephens Auditorium - The fall 2018 College of Human Sciences convocation will be held in C.Y. Stephens Auditorium on Friday, Dec. 14, 2018. Seating is unlimited and tickets are not required for admission. Attendance is optional. The College of Human Sciences Convocation will begin promptly at 2 p.m. and last approximately 60 minutes. Doors open to the public at 1 p.m. The convocation will include greetings from the dean of the college, comments by a student speaker, and individual recognition of each graduating student who is in attendance. At the conclusion of the recognition of student award recipients, students will cross the stage as their names are read and be recognized by the dean and the chair or director of their respective academic department or school. College of Human Sciences reception for graduating students: 3-4 p.m., C.Y. Stephens Auditorium, ground and first floor - Students, families, and friends are invited to celebrate with graduating undergraduate and graduate students. This event immediately follows the CHS undergraduate convocation so the start time may vary a bit, depending on when that event concludes.

Spring 2019 Career Fairs: noon -5 p.m., Scheman Building, Hilton Coliseum - All Iowa State students are encouraged to attend the Spring 2019 People to People Career Fair and the Business, Industry, and Technology Career Fair. Both fairs occur at the same time. The People to People Career Fair will take place in the Scheman Building, and the Business, Industry, and Technology Career Fair will take place in Hilton Coliseum. CHS International Programs: Leading a study abroad program: 12:30-1:30 p.m., 1009 LeBaron Hall - This information session is for CHS faculty who are interested in leading a new study abroad program and have not worked with the CHS International Programs Office before. Topics will include an overview of international education at Iowa State, services and support, study abroad program characteristics and models, responsibilities for program directors, and how to propose your program idea. This session is ideal for faculty interested in leading a new study abroad program at spring break 2020 or summer 2020.
