I was responsible for...
Creative Design Intern -Focused primarily on Jumping Beans Boys -Created and updated trim sheets and CADs -Designed products and requested samples via OnePLM -Researched trends and provided insight for concept boards. -Worked costly and collaborated with art, product development, and buying teams

I accomplished...
My greatest accomplishment was by far my project I did for the boys team. I researched active sets and presented my own concept and designs to my team. Eventually we settled on 3 designs in 2 different color ways that will be bought and sold in stores Summer 2019.

I learned...
My greatest takeaways would be how much more there is to learn and how important it is to always pay attention because you could miss something any second. I would say they used Photoshop Illustrator and Excel more than anything else so definitely growing more familiar with those programs will help me in the future. Also really being able to reach out to your manager and take her opinion into account because at the end of the day she/he is the one representing your brand and products and what she says goes anyway. I learned a lot about how many people touch the product and you never really own a product all by yourself. I also learned how inexpensive it is to make a little t shirt and have it mass-produced.

Advice for others...
My advice for students if they are trying to get a job at Kohl's is be yourself. They hire a lot off personality and potential and if they think you'll be a good fit at the company. I also recommend always having something to take notes and always write things down. Being new in the industry there is so much to know and learn. You're constantly meeting new people and theres a lot of information all at once so writing things down so you don't have to ask twice is the best advice. Also to really focus on how to save the company money and being cost efficient. In school its important to design for a customer, not always what you want. And pay attention in most importantly adobe classes, construction classes, and technical designer and global sourcing classes.
