I was responsible for...
I was a sales intern at Randa Accessories. My responsibilities included: Analyzing weekly reports to track product success and research potential new clients, evaluating competitors’ products to assess opportunity and white space, and attending weekly seminars pertaining to different departments within the company.
It was a great experience being able to work for the world's largest men's accessories licensing company. Throughout the course of my internship, I had the opportunity to do a lot of great things, however my greatest accomplishment was implementing a new productivity tool that tracks new client acquisition.
I learned a lot about time management during the course of my internship. You can get so much done if you sit down for a couple of hours and really concentrate on the task in front of you. That means not checking your phone every 10 minutes. Another lesson I learned is really figure out what you love to do. You're probably not going to figure it out right away on the first try. I'm still trying to figure it out myself. The money will find its way to you, if you really love what you're doing, so focus on what you're passionate about, not what's going to get you the most money.
Advice for others...
My advice for future students is try to take away at least one thing from every experience you have. You're going to have a lot of different experiences in your life, not all of them expected. Most likely, things aren't going to work out exactly how you planned them to, so just enjoy the ride. Everything happens for a reason and every experience you have will contribute to your ultimate goal and morph you into the person you are/become.
