I was responsible for...
I was responsible for daily recording of store numbers, participating in training of newly hired employees, calculating percentages taken off merchandise upon sale days, notifying the managers of events, people, or merchandise that needed to be looked over on into. Each day was divided into new skills to be learned, rehearsed and shared with other employees.

I accomplished...
I got to spend much of my time interacting with the Store Managers and learned a lot from them, as well as from the employees. Everyone took me in and was so kind to me. My greatest accomplishment is learning nearly everything about Dillard's on a store level and being able to to share my knowledge with everyone else. I learned enough that if I was graduated I would definitely have a management position.

I learned...
Throughout the internship I spent much of my days working. Nearly the entire day consisted of work, then going home for dinner, then bed, then repeat. It helped me see that work becomes your life, so if you don't like what your doing, don't get a job in it. This internship, however pointed me in the right direction where I know I'll be happy.

Advice for others...
Don't rush into something you think you might like, because it will be your life, your income, and your profession. Make sure you really like what you do. Apply for internships that have a range of focuses in mind. Trying everything first hand is the best way to figure out if you'll like it!
