I was responsible for...
I am currently an SA, which makes me a servers assistant. I am in charge of making sure the table is supplied with the proper things, and am in charge of back up for the server. I communicate with the customers and make sure that they are enjoying their time.
I got to shadow a wedding this past weekend. And the bride and groom were overjoyed by how good the customer service was. I am so proud to have been part of the team that made the wedding so enjoyable and easy to work through. Even the guests went up to the staff to let us know that they enjoyed our service.
Sometimes mistakes make an experience better. Customers have a better time if something goes wrong and is fixed then if nothing were to happen at all. It's the employees ability to handle problems that make a customer more at ease.
Advice for others...
Buy sensible shoes, leave any issue that you have at the door once you reach the work location. Always remember that the customer is there for a reason, and that it's special to them, and not about you.
