I was responsible for...
As an assistant manager, I have a lot of responsibilities. I am involved with the interview, hiring and training process. I'm also in charge of the restaurant whenever my General Manager is not present. In addition to that, I also make sure our food products are prepare the right away and follow Iowa Food Code. As part of a team, I make sure to provide every guest with the best service and the best food we have to offer. I want to give them that "WOW" experience.

I accomplished...
I think the greatest accomplishment from this internship is to see all my staff members that I've trained performed well on their job. It lets me know that I've done a good job at training my staff.

I learned...
Teamwork is the greatest lesson I learned. In this industry, it is important to work as a team and count on your team. When the kitchen would get busy, I would have a have a coworker take charge of the front of the house, while I would help the kitchen having a team mentality makes the whole situation goes effortlessly.

Advice for others...
Don't be afraid to ask questions if you don't understand something. Get out of your comfort zone and challenge yourself to learn something new. It will make your experience a lot more fun and compelling.
