The Fashion Show committees
From press releases to stage lighting, students from any major can apply to work on one of the Fashion Show committees, or apply to be a managerial producer, outreach producer, director, or committee member. Find the different committee options available for students to apply for listed below.
Students create all print and digital media content: including show program, advertisements and social media images.
Behind the Scenes
Behind the Scenes day includes high school students attending fashion classes and seeing a dress rehearsal of the show.
This committee finds judges for the garment selection, handles the show’s submitted garments, and organizes the order of the show.
Develop and plan the promotional events for Iowa State Fashion Week leading up to The Fashion Show.
Students on the fundraising committee find sponsorship and raise money for the show.
Gallery and display
Design and install all of the window displays on-campus and Ames businesses to promote the show.
This committee creates choreography and oversees all models and practices and works backstage during the show.
Spearheads new philanthropic activities that align with The Fashion Show’s mission and give back to the community.
Another newer committee, the photography committee documents the show through both photographs and videos.
Promotes The Fashion Show through various media outlets, builds press kits, and creates goodie bags.
This committee develops and executes the entire stage for the both halves of the show.
Promotes The Fashion Show on all social media platforms and enforces branding.
Engage with Iowa State community through events and workshops. Improve inter committee relationships through social events.
Music Direction and Technology
Secures DJ, Emcee, and Videographers. Supports technical needs to the show and live stream.
This key position keeps a budget throughout the entire semester for all committees.
